Are A-rated bonds safe?

A is an adequate credit-safety grade assigned by SEBI-registered agencies such as CRISIL, ICRA and CARE. RightBonds classifies it as “High Safety”. A rating measures default probability, not price stability - always match the rating to your own risk appetite.

What yield do A bonds offer right now?

How is a A bond different from a fixed deposit?

An FD carries the bank's credit and fixed rates; a A bond carries the issuer's credit risk and trades at market prices, which is why it can yield more. Bonds are also not covered by DICGC deposit insurance.
